full maher al-muaiqly, 256kbps uploaded!
salam 3alaikum,
courtesy of Al-Muaiqly.com, we now have the full recitation of one of my favorite sheikhs, sheikh Maher al-Muaiqly, in 256kbps high quality. you can download it here. i also want to take this opportunity to thank a friend of mine who got me the set from Makkah when he went for Hajj this year (may Allah accept from him and his family insha’Allah) - however, i never got around to ripping that set…
please note that i haven’t tagged these files yet, insha’Allah will be uploading a better tagged version (courtesy of my friend, may Allah reward him) as soon as he’s done uploading, so just thought to mention that.
speaking of tagging, i am planning on tagging those files that aren’t tagged as well, but insha’Allah will post here once that’s taken care of (it’s not the immediate priority, but insha’Allah will get to it).
walsalam 3alaikum.

assalamu alykum warahmatullahi wabarakatu
jazakAllah for all the efforts you put into this site, its the site i visit the most. may Allah reward you increasingly for everything you do for his sake. Amin.
i have a concern regarding the mishary translation by sabbir,
ive noticed a couple of surahs are missing the end, 2 that i have ran into were surah abasa and yasin, it just stops at a certain ayah. i dont think the person making it finished. its unfortunate because the person does an excellent job (in my opinion) as an orator. but inshaAllah he will finish these and the rest of the quran soon.
ill let you know if i run into any more. can you please take them down until they are fully finished or atleast tag them as incomplete or something? reason being is that muslims who are not familiar with the Quran may think that its the end of the surah (its unfortunate to say but its true).
jazakAllahu khairun
ps- i noticed that you looove al muaiqly lol, its the only one that has a little blurb on the top of the download page! lol.
inshaALlah take care,
assalamu alykum warahmatullahi wa barakatu = )

ASK,
Well have you tried downloading these files?
Does not work !
I dont see a mp3 link, i go to page for download link .. downloading using firefox .. when cliking on link - mp3 is downloaded by browser and starts palying in the player on my browser.
Surely a download link should bring up a box asking you to download file and where I want to save it etc… OR IS THIS NOT WHAT YOU ARE OFFERING.
Need more QA on the website.
Thanks

Ziyad Patel(South Africa) is amazing. You should add his recitation as well:

assalamu alaikum,
i’d first of all like to thank you for your excellent work (may Allah reward you an immense reward) - especially for your efforts in maintaining high audio quality (FLAC next?).
Regarding the tags - you may find the foobar masstagger useful. Guessing the values from the filenames with the following command should work:
%tracknumber%_%title%
You’ll be able to copy the tags to other files as well.
wa-alaikum assalam.

@brother - insha’Allah if i find them in high quality, will upload them.
@zakir - al7madulillah, if you run into any other issues, do let me know. indeed though, i do love al-muaiqly, he’s one of my favorites!
@mohamed - unfortunately, i have no control over this - this is controlled by your browser and what media plugins you have installed. the easy way around this is to right click the file and do a “save target as…” which should save the mp3.
@omar - jazakAllah khair, will insha’Allah try to add those files.
@yaqub - jazakAllah khair. i have a perl script i’ve written to automatically tag the files, i just need to re-run it. i did this using id3v2 (command line program). but insha’Allah just need to get around to running it…
